Mr. K. Sudershan is a highly experienced professional in the energy sector with a career spanning over three decades. He has been serving as an Advisor and Senior Consultant at the Administrative Staff College of India (ASCI) since January 2020, where he is responsible for planning and executing various research and consultancy projects under the “Centre for Energy Studies,” focusing on innovation in research design. Notable projects under his guidance include the assessment of biomass and bagasse power potential in India, the feasibility and adoption of pumped hydro storage systems in light of rapid renewable energy penetration, and the implementation of the Energy Conservation Building Code (ECBC) 2017 in Telangana and Andhra Pradesh.
Mr. Sudershan's career at NTPC Ltd., where he held several key positions, is particularly distinguished. From 1984 to 2016, he progressed from Deputy General Manager to General Manager – Commercial, eventually becoming an Additional General Manager. He was instrumental in strategic planning, contract awards, infrastructure development, and implementing SAP for energy billing and accounting.

He has also contributed to developing electric vehicle charging infrastructure on key highways in Maharashtra and supported the state EV and mobility policy development in Telangana. His work includes conducting feasibility studies on pumped hydro storage systems for THDC Limited and assessing the biomass power potential for the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE).
Mr. Sudershan’s educational qualifications include an MBA in Human Resource Management (1992) and a Bachelor of Engineering in Mining (1981), both from Osmania University, Hyderabad. His linguistic proficiency extends to English, Hindi, and Telugu, enabling effective communication across diverse regions.
His expertise in energy efficiency, strategic planning, and project management has been instrumental in driving various initiatives aimed at promoting sustainable energy practices. Throughout his career, Mr. Sudershan has consistently demonstrated his commitment to advancing energy efficiency and conservation, earning recognition for his contributions to the energy sector.
